About the role

Join a growing, family-owned food business producing gourmet freeze-dried meals, snacks, hot sauces, and preserves. This part-time role offers the opportunity to grow into a full-time position as production expands.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of freeze-dried meals, snacks, and hot sauces from start to finish across more than 50 recipes.
• Follow facility standard operating procedures for receiving, critical control point monitoring, batch recording, allergen management, hygiene, cleaning, and sanitation.
• Operate freeze-drying and other facility equipment, and assist with product packing.
• Contribute ideas to the continuous improvement of facility operations.

What you'll bring

• At least one year of food-preparation experience in a commercial kitchen.
• FoodSafe Level 1 is preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate well as part of a team.
• Knowledge of HACCP processes and federal requirements for a meat-production establishment is an asset; training will be provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
